What it says on the back of the book

The Adventure Begins...

When his father dies, David Balfour must set out alone to meet his long lost uncle and seek his fortune. It's the start of a terrifying and exciting adventure.

First David just escapes being murdered, then he's kidnapped by his uncle's friend Captain Hoseason. When the ship they are travelling in sinks, the fight to survive begins. David and his new friend Alan Breck, an outlaw and master fighter, set out on an amazing journey across Scotland. They must risk all to get back to David's uncle and claim his fortune.

Edinburgh, UNESCO City of Literature, chose Kidnapped as their 'One Book - One Edinburgh' reading project. The story has been adapted by Alan Grant and illustrated by Cam Kennedy. Both are world famous masters of their art, and bring to the story all the excitement and dash of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic book.

ALAN GRANT is a world class author of comics and graphic novels. He has written many classic strips for 2000 AD, including Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog. His graphic novel work includes Shadow of the Bat and Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, and many more.

CAM KENNEDY has illustrated many graphic novels and comics, including various strips for 2000 AD, Daredevil and Punisher for Marvel, Batman for DC, and two series of Star Wars graphic novels for Dark Horse.
