Whitelines is a new generation of writing paper. The concept is patented and yet very simple. The dark markings from pens and pencils interfere contrast-wise with the traditional dark guidelines of ordinary paper. Whitelines addresses this by making the guidelines lighter than the background so there are less perceptual distractions and the written information is easier to read.
Unlike normal paper, as the image on the left illustrates, when you write or draw on Whitelines paper there are three very distinct levels of colour tone; the guidelines, the background colour and the pen colour. There is no visual competition between the guidelines and the pen markings, so your writing and sketches stand out clearly.
In addition, the background paper colour is a very light grey to contrast with the white guidelines, so in strong light the user benefits from less glare than ordinary paper. Another advantage is that the white lines disappear easily when using a photocopier, fax or scanner, to leave a clear image.
The pads are 210mm x 297mm (A4) and contain 40 sheets (80 pages) of 80gsm paper. They are available in two styles; ruled at 9mm spacing (no margin), or with a 5mm grid.

The curve to the far left shows a Whitelines® paper before the notes from a pen; a lot of light colour (the background) and a small amount of white (the supporting lines). With marks from a pen the curve gets a fresh new peak in the dark area without any visual interference.

Rating: / 5 A really clever idea that works
Review by Sam -
I have to admit I was rather skeptical when I first read about this product - but after keeping a pad next to me at work, it really helped not only to scribble notes down onto, but then referencing them again afterwards.
