Single-user software is quickly outgrown once more than one pupil is identified as needing support. A multi-licence is the format designed for shared use, so provision can sit with the school rather than with a single laptop.

How it helps schools

Whole-school reach: a multi-licence format supports use by more than one pupil, which suits SEN provision delivered across year groups and Key Stages.

Graduated approach: software held at school level can be offered at the Quality First Teaching stage, then targeted at pupils needing additional support.

EHCP and SEN support plans: having a shared licence in place means named provision can be met without a fresh purchase each time.

Procurement-friendly: one order for multiple users is simpler for budget holders than repeated single-user purchases.

Supplied by a specialist: ordered from The Dyslexia Shop, a family-run UK retailer focused on dyslexia, SEND and assistive technology.

Supporting dyslexic learners

Dyslexic pupils often need consistent, repeated practice and the chance to work at their own pace. A licence that covers several users means a dyslexic learner can continue in a small intervention group, in class and in a different room without waiting for one licensed device to be free. For schools, that consistency matters more than any single session.

Why this type of purchase works

Software bought on a multi-licence basis generally gives schools flexibility.
