What is Sensory Readable Suite Workplace?
Sensory Readable Suite for Windows is offline text-to-speech software that reads aloud the words under your mouse cursor. The Workplace Single User Licence is a perpetual licence for one employee and is a practical reasonable adjustment for dyslexic adults and anyone who works better by listening.
The software is installed on the computer and processes text locally, so emails, reports and confidential documents are not sent to the cloud.
How it helps at work
Reading long emails, reports and policies can be tiring. Sensory Readable gives real-time spoken feedback with underline-highlighting in Microsoft Office, acts as a proofreader for writing and dictation, and makes research and document review faster and less effortful.
- A recognised type of reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010 for employees with dyslexia.
- Can form part of an Access to Work workplace assessment recommendation.
- Network-ready .msi installer for IT teams, plus a standard .exe installer for users with administrator rights.
- Works offline, which suits secure and regulated environments.
- Perpetual licence with no annual renewal.
Support for dyslexia and visual stress
For dyslexic employees, hearing text read aloud reduces reading fatigue and helps catch errors when proofreading. For employees with visual stress (Meares-Irlen), Sensory Tint changes the colour of the screen and Sensory Ruler gives an adjustable reading ruler across the display.
