Price: £13.20 | View the Flexitable 1 to 12 Grid

The Flexitable range includes the 1 to 10 multiplication grid and the 1 to 12 multiplication grid, an addition and subtraction grid, a fraction, percentage and decimal grid and a 100 number square. Each grid is printed with lead-free inks on flexible PVC, with channels that let it be folded again and again.

How does a Flexitable times table grid work?

A Flexitable times table grid works by folding. The red numbers along the top and down the left-hand side are the multipliers. To find 5 x 4, a child folds along the 5 and the 4, and 20 appears in the bottom right-hand corner. Division is the reverse, so the same fold shows that 20 divided by 4 is 5. The grids can also be used to find square roots, number patterns and missing factors.

How do Flexitables help children with dyscalculia?

The British Dyslexia Association describes dyscalculia as a difficulty particularly in understanding and working with numbers. Flexitables help by turning number facts into something a child can hold, fold and see, instead of relying on memory alone. Seeing multiplication and division on one grid shows how the two operations connect. Children can work one-to-one at their own pace, and the coins and counters add a second hands-on way to build number sense. Find more resources in our dyscalculia and maths support range.

Which Flexitable should I choose?

Match the grid to the skill your child or class is working on. Choose the 1 to 12 times table grid for Key Stage 2 pupils working towards all tables up to 12 x 12, and the 1 to 10 grid for children still securing the earlier tables. The 100 number square supports counting and number patterns in Key Stage 1, and the fraction grid helps older pupils see that 1/4, 25% and 0.25 are the same value.

Are Flexitables suitable for schools and SEND provision?

Yes. The multiplication grids come singly or in packs of 10, 15 and 30, so a SENCO can equip an intervention group or a whole class. Basic Maths teaching notes and 18 pages of Activity Plans, downloaded via a QR code, support Quality First Teaching, small-group intervention and pupils at SEN Support or with an EHCP. Can I use Flexitables at home?

Yes. A single Flexitable is a simple, durable way to support times tables practice at the kitchen table. The Flexitable Home Tuition Kit is designed for parents helping with homework or tutoring at home, and the Activity Plans and how-to-use video give you ideas for short, calm practice sessions.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Flexitable?

A Flexitable is a times table grid printed on soft, flexible PVC with folding channels, so children can fold it to find answers. Made in England by Flexitable Ltd, the range covers multiplication and division, addition and subtraction, fractions, percentages and decimals, and a 100 number square, for home and classroom maths.

How do you use a times table grid for division?

To divide with a Flexitable, find the answer in the grid and fold back to the two red numbers that make it. For example, with 20 in the bottom right-hand corner after folding along 4 and 5, a child can see that 20 divided by 4 is 5 and 20 divided by 5 is 4, because division is the reverse of multiplication.

Do times table grids help children with dyscalculia?

Yes, a times table grid lets children with dyscalculia find number facts by seeing and folding, rather than relying on memory alone. The British Dyslexia Association describes dyscalculia as a difficulty particularly in understanding and working with numbers. A Flexitable shows how numbers relate across rows and columns, and Flexitable says the format helps pupils with dyscalculia.

Should I buy the 1 to 10 or the 1 to 12 times table grid?

Choose the 1 to 12 grid for children working on the 11 and 12 times tables, which the national curriculum in England expects pupils to know by the end of Year 4. The 1 to 10 grid suits younger children or those still securing the earlier tables. Both come with the same teaching notes, Activity Plans and coins and counters.

How can I help my child learn times tables at home?

Short, regular practice with a hands-on tool is a calm way to build times tables confidence at home. A single Flexitable lets your child find each answer by folding, then check and say the fact aloud. The Flexitable Home Tuition Kit and the downloadable Activity Plans give parents structured ideas without needing a maths background.

Can schools buy Flexitables in class packs?

Yes, the multiplication and division grids are available singly and in packs of 10, 15 and 30, so a SENCO or teacher can equip an intervention group or a whole class. The included Basic Maths teaching notes and 18 pages of Activity Plans support Quality First Teaching, small-group intervention and one-to-one SEND support.
