The Chewbuddy Bangle is a chewable sensory bracelet worn on the wrist, made for children who chew on their cuffs or sleeves or who don't like wearing a chew around their neck. It is made in the UK from non-toxic, medical grade material and is free from BPA, PVC, latex, cadmium, lead and phthalates. Each pack contains one bangle.

Who it is for

The Chewbuddy Bangle is designed for mild to moderate chewers and biters. It suits both children and adults, and is not suitable for children under 3 years. For stronger chewers, the manufacturer recommends the Chewbuddy Super, its strongest chew for moderate to aggressive chewers.

How the Chewbuddy Bangle helps

The bangle's hexagonal shape gives a large biting area, and nodules around the outside add extra sensory input. Because it is worn on the wrist, it is always within reach and easy to bring up to the mouth, just as a child might do with a sleeve. The wide 5cm wrist opening makes it easy to slip on and off without help.

For parents and home use

  • Gives your child something safe to chew instead of their cuffs and sleeves.
  • Worn on the wrist, so there is no lanyard or necklace to manage.
  • Discreet enough to wear at school, on days out and at home.
  • Two or three bangles can be worn together on one wrist for comforting weight.
  • Washes in water and mild soap, and can be sterilised or put in the dishwasher.

Support for autism, ADHD and sensory processing differences

Many autistic children seek oral sensory input, and a bangle gives them a chew that is always on hand without anything around the neck. This can help children who find necklaces or lanyards uncomfortable.

Children with ADHD often chew while concentrating or waiting. A bangle on the wrist is a quiet, low-key way to meet that need at home or in class.

For children with sensory processing differences who seek oral or tactile input, the nodules add extra texture, and wearing more than one bangle adds a comforting weight to the wrist.

Safe use

Sensory chews are not toys. Adult supervision is required, and the bangle is not suitable for children under 3 years. Chews are durable but not indestructible, so check the bangle for wear before and during use and replace it if you see any damage.

If your child chews their sleeves or doesn't get on with necklace chews, the Chewbuddy Bangle is a simple, practical option to try. Our team is always happy to help you choose.
