EasyReader Education is a 12-month school licence for EasyReader, the reading and study app from Dolphin Computer Access. It gives pupils read-aloud with synchronised word highlighting, AI-powered Summary, Quiz, Flashcards and AI Tutor tools, and access to 1.4 million books, with a teacher dashboard to set reading lists and track progress. Plans run from a single student to whole schools of over 10,000 students.
Summaries, AI Tutor, flashcards and quizzes: the Explore study tools
The Explore study tools are what set EasyReader apart from a standard read-aloud app. They take any text and turn it into active learning, so pupils spend less effort getting through the words and more effort understanding and remembering them.
- Summary: condenses a long chapter, article or worksheet into its key points. For dyslexic learners this cuts the volume of reading, so energy goes on understanding rather than decoding page after page.
- AI Tutor: gives guided support with the text, helping learners explore what they have read and make sense of it at their own pace.
- Flashcards: turn any text into flashcards to revisit key ideas, a practical way to practise, learn and remember.
- Quiz: checks understanding straight after reading, so learners know what has gone in and what to go back to.
The tools work on any text in EasyReader, whether it is a library book, an imported document or text captured with a reading pen.
How EasyReader Education helps in school
EasyReader removes the decoding barrier so pupils can access the same texts as their peers. Text is read aloud with each word highlighted, and pupils choose the fonts, colours and spacing that work for them. The Explore tools then move learners from reading to understanding: summaries reduce the volume of reading, quizzes check comprehension, flashcards support revision, and the AI Tutor gives guided support with the text.

- Tiered plans for a single student, or up to 500, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and over 10,000 students.
- Teacher dashboard to prepare reading lists for classes and year groups and monitor reading progress.
- Unlimited staff logins, with Google Classroom and Microsoft 365 integration.
- Supports Quality First Teaching and can be recorded as assistive technology provision within the graduated approach and EHCP or SEN support plans.
- Telephone and email support, plus an accredited professional development course for staff.
Supporting dyslexic learners
Dyslexia affects word recognition and reading fluency rather than understanding. EasyReader lets dyslexic pupils hear and see text at the same time, then work with it actively through summaries, flashcards and quizzes. This reduces reading fatigue and gives learners a reliable, independent way to practise and learn across the curriculum.
Library and learning resources
EasyReader Education includes access to 1.4 million books, including textbooks, study guides, magazines and novels, with learning resources in visual, audio and braille formats. Pupils can read at school, at home and on the move on any device.
Add reading pens
EasyReader works alongside reading pens. With the Scanmarker Max, pupils can use the take photo feature to capture a printed page, handwriting or the whiteboard and upload the text into EasyReader. See our Scanmarker Max and EasyReader bundle and RocketPen Reader and EasyReader bundle.
