What is the IPEVO V4K PRO 120?

The IPEVO V4K PRO 120 is a compact USB document camera, also called a visualiser, with an 8MP Sony CMOS sensor and a 120-degree wide-angle lens. It captures a maximum area of 440 x 330 mm, large enough for a tabloid page or an open textbook spread. Teachers plug it into a laptop or classroom PC and display live images of books, worksheets, handwriting and objects on an interactive whiteboard or projector.

For dyslexic pupils, copying from a distant board and following small print on a crowded page are common barriers. A visualiser lets the teacher enlarge exactly the line, word or diagram the class is working on, point to it in real time and keep everyone on the same place in the text.

How it helps in the classroom

The V4K PRO 120 shows images at up to 3264 x 2448 pixels at 30 frames per second, with autofocus that works from 10 cm. A built-in LED light (172 lux) keeps pages bright in dim rooms, and up to 12x digital zoom is available in IPEVO Visualizer software. The adjustable arm also turns it into a wide-angle webcam with a microphone that uses intelliGo noise reduction and voice enhancement.

For schools

  • Whole-class modelling: show handwriting, annotation and reading strategies live, supporting Quality First Teaching.
  • Reduces copying from the board: enlarged text on the main screen helps pupils with dyslexia keep their place.
  • Works across key stages: suitable for EYFS to post-16 lessons, intervention groups and staff training.
  • Simple set-up: plug-and-play USB with Mac, Windows and Chromebook, and it folds to 277 x 78 x 48 mm for moving between rooms.
  • Hybrid ready: works with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams for remote lessons and parent meetings.

Supporting dyslexic learners

Dyslexia affects reading fluency, spelling and visual tracking, and many dyslexic pupils find it tiring to copy notes or locate text in a busy worksheet. By showing the exact text at a large size, the teacher can model reading line by line, highlight key words and demonstrate spellings as they are written. Pupils spend less effort finding their place and more effort on learning.

Why visual modelling matters

Seeing a task modelled step by step is a widely used inclusive teaching approach, and it benefits the whole class as well as pupils on the SEN register. A visualiser makes this easy without preparing extra slides.

The IPEVO V4K PRO 120 comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty. Our team is happy to help with quotes for multiple classrooms.
