What is the IPEVO Wireless USB/HDMI Receiver?

The IPEVO Wireless USB/HDMI Receiver is a small receiver that pairs automatically with IPEVO Wi-Fi document cameras, such as the VZ-X and VZ-X ULTRA. It plugs into an interactive whiteboard, projector or monitor by HDMI, or into a computer by USB-C, and shows the camera's live picture in 4K. It uses its own dedicated wireless link, so it does not rely on the school Wi-Fi network.

This is the standalone receiver. It is designed for schools that already own a VZ-X or VZ-X ULTRA and want to upgrade to cable-free teaching, or that need an extra receiver for another room.

How it helps in the classroom

The receiver outputs 4K (3840 x 2160) at 60 fps over HDMI and 4K at 30 fps over USB-C, with a range of up to 15 metres. Set-up is driver-free with one-button pairing, and LED indicators show white when ready and green when active. It measures 93 x 83 x 20 mm, weighs 68 g and draws just 3W through USB-C.

For schools

  • Upgrade existing cameras: add wireless teaching to a VZ-X or VZ-X ULTRA you already own.
  • Separate from school Wi-Fi: the dedicated link avoids network log-ins and congestion.
  • Supports pupils with dyslexia: the teacher can enlarge text and model reading from any desk.
  • Any display: HDMI for projectors and panels, USB-C for computers and Android or Windows interactive whiteboards.
  • All key stages: suitable from EYFS to post-16 classrooms.

Supporting dyslexic learners

Dyslexia affects reading fluency, spelling and the ability to track text across a page. With a wireless visualiser, a teacher can enlarge the exact sentence being read, show a pupil's work to the class and model spellings live, which reduces copying from the board and helps dyslexic pupils keep their place.

Why visual modelling matters

Step-by-step modelling is a widely used inclusive approach that supports pupils on the SEN register alongside their classmates.

The receiver has a three-year manufacturer's warranty. Our team is happy to check compatibility with your existing IPEVO cameras before you order.
