Bring bold pops of colour to cardboard creations
Makedo Deco-Props Sparkies are colourful, reversible plastic shapes that attach to cardboard with Makedo connectors. They bring bright detail and flow to any build, turning plain boxes into eye-catching creatures, vehicles, costumes and characters. Each set contains 25 pieces and is ready to use straight from the packet.
How Sparkies work
Sparkies are pre-cut shapes that fix to cardboard with Makedo Scru and Scru+ connectors and the Mini-Tool. The shapes bend, flop, transform and stack together, so you can layer them to build decorations you could not make from cardboard alone. Because each shape is reversible, you can flip pieces over to mix and match the look.
The set includes 10 reversible shapes, 6 Scru connectors, 8 Scru+ connectors and 1 Mini-Tool. With 25 pieces in total, Sparkies is the largest of the four Deco-Props sets, giving you plenty to work with on bigger projects.

- What is in the Makedo Deco-Props Sparkies set?
The Makedo Deco-Props Sparkies set contains 25 pieces. These are 10 reversible colourful shapes, 6 Scru connectors, 8 Scru+ connectors and 1 Mini-Tool. Everything needed to attach the shapes is included, so you only need to add your own cardboard to start building. - How do Makedo Sparkies attach to cardboard?
Sparkies attach to cardboard with Makedo Scru and Scru+ connectors and the Mini-Tool. Make a hole in the cardboard with the Mini-Tool, then fix the shape in place with a connector. The shapes can be stacked and layered on the same connector. No glue or tape is needed. - What age are Makedo Sparkies suitable for?
Makedo describes Sparkies as suitable for makers of all ages, and the range is safety tested to age 3+. Younger children can choose and position the shapes, while older children and adults can use the Mini-Tool to fix pieces and build more detailed, layered decorations. - What can you make with Makedo Sparkies?
Sparkies add bright colour and detail to any cardboard creation. The shapes bend, flop, transform and stack, so they work well as feathers, fins, flowers, flames or decorative trims. Makedo says they let you make decorations you would not otherwise be able to create in cardboard alone. - Can Makedo Sparkies be reused?
Yes, Sparkies are designed to be reused. Unscrew the connectors to remove the pieces, then move them to your next creation. The resealable packaging keeps all 25 pieces together between projects, so one set can be used across many different cardboard builds. - What are Makedo Deco-Props Sparkies made from?
Sparkies are made from plastic produced from recycled material. Makedo states that each individual shape in the Deco-Props range is fully recyclable. Because the pieces are reusable and attach to cardboard you already have, they offer a low-waste way to build and decorate at home. - Can Sparkies be used with other Deco-Props sets?
Yes, Sparkies stack and layer with the other three Deco-Props sets from Makedo: Googlies, Twisties and Blobbies. Combining sets lets you add eyes, springy shapes and colourful details to the same creation, so you can build more elaborate characters, creatures and robots from everyday cardboard.
