This worry kit was developed alongside teachers to help children in Primary Schools aged 4-10 years to express their anxiety and support them to know what to do if they feel worried or upset.
The Worry Wiper used to have lots of his own worries and he learnt to wipe them away and this is illustrated with the poem.
Use this to help children share their worries by writing them on the dry wipe boards in the kit. Once the worry is written down The Worry Wiper wipes them away – illustrated on the reverse of the dry wipe board.
This kit contains a pack of discussion cards enabling the child to consider their worry and what they want to do with it, giving the child permission to talk about how they feel. Questions about what makes the child feel worried, something, some place, someone... are included, this could potentially lead to safeguarding issues, so we have also included cards about the importance that some secrets need to be shared.
