The Total School Kit is your complete teaching solution for teaching Letters and Sounds. It covers the Letters and Sounds programme from Nursery through to Year 2 – phases 1 to 6. There are 3 copies of each of the four Teacher Planners, and these are dedicated to the different year groups and provide lesson plans throughout.

There is are 528 different decodable titles and 18 copies of each, providing you with 9,504 readers for your school. Each decodable reader follows the progression and this is presented in the inside front cover. There are also common exception words (tricky words) that are shown below so that children are familiar with them before decoding the text. There are also 198 Read & Write decodables (21 different titles) to support the application of newly forming decoding skills in spelling and writing.

The kit includes a number of classroom friezes for decoration, including six copies of the letter sound frieze and twelve copies of each of the alphabet and phoneme friezes. These can be presented on the wall of the classroom or cut up and used as large flashcards.

There are a number of supplementary resources included: High Frequency Words Cards, Phonemic Awareness Cards, Alien Word Cards, Grapheme to Phoneme Cards, Common Exception Word Cards, Phoneme Frame Cards, Suffix Cards and Homophone Cards. The cards with phoneme frames have a write and wipe surface to support the use of writing with whiteboard markers.

Finally, there are 12 boxes sets of rainbow phonics include (which link to word building examples presented in the planner) and six SPAG pop ups which show visually the various spelling rules taught at Phase 6 of Letters and Sounds.
